MAY
2006 Newletter
Hello Fellow Trail Riders, Our next meeting is on the 17th of
May. Maggie Pittman is scheduled to attend. Maggie is the District
Ranger of the Missoula District of the Lolo National Forest. Hopefully
this will be the beginning of meaningful dialogue that will lead to a
mutually beneficial partnership between the WMTRA and the Missoula
District. To this end, I would strongly encourage as many members as
possible and all interested parties to be at this meeting. A large turn
out would help to show just how many OHV users are out there. We also
need Maggie to see that we are not a bunch of crazed maniacs bent on
shredding the forest into oblivion. The Board of Directors will have
some pre-selected questions to be addressed and the membership will have
a chance to ask questions also. I believe that Maggie is demonstrating a
genuine interest in our club and that it is akin to walking into the
lions den for her. Please be ready to state your views in a courteous
manner. If you have any questions, comments or ideas concerning this
meeting, give me a call @ 251-8466
Rick Deniger President - WMTRA 251-8466
P.S. Everyone should be sure to contact the Missoula
District Forest Service. E-mails, phone calls and letters are all
appropriate. Try to get this done by the 5th of May, as I will be
meeting with them the following week. A simple request for motorized
access is all that is needed at this time. Remember, there
is strength in numbers ! Thanks all, Rick D.
MARCH
2006 Newletter
THE WMTRA WILL HOLD IT'S FIRST MEETING OF "06"
MARCH 15th AT THE JOKERS WILD.
REFRESHMENT WILL BE SERVED AT 6:30PM THE MEETING WILL
START AT 7PM
Hi folks, It looks like spring may actually be on it's way.
Now is the time to start gearing up for the clubs activities. Those of you
who would like to are invited to come at 6:30pm to enjoy refreshments and
visit with other members that you may not have seen in a while. Election of
officers is on the schedule, so be sure to attend so that you are able to
vote. Please consider running for office or volunteering to help those who
do. Our club still in the "Start up" mode and there are many tasks that need
to be handled. The more help, the lighter the load. Give some thought to
some kind of things you would like to see happen this year and ways to
facilitate them.
The GOOD
NEWS is, we have found a
solution to the problem of insurance. The WMTRA is in the process of
becoming a AMA/ATVA charter chapter. This will enable us to purchase
coverage at a rate that is affordable. Fun runs will be a part of the agenda
this year. I would like to thank the membership for there patience.
Curt says hello to all and has high expectations for a fun
and productive year for the WMTRA. Having the first year and some of the
organizational kinks ironed out should enable us to have more events and
riding opportunities than last year. Enthusiasm and good spirits should run
high.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to call
me. Rick Deniger 251-8466
